Counselling in West-Malling Kent, Central London & online throughout the UK and Europe

Real talk, real change, one conversation at a time

Welcome, and thank you for visiting The Counselling Choice.

My name is Sue Aylott, I'm a counsellor with over 10 years’ experience supporting individuals and couples. I offer face-to-face, online and walk-and-talk sessions, providing a safe space to be heard and to take steps towards positive change.

My Experience and Approach as a Counsellor

As an individual, couples counsellor, and group facilitator, I bring a background rooted in the care and family system, including work with elders, foster care, social services, and supporting those affected by coercive control, C - PTSD, and the challenges of military life.

I am a trauma-informed practitioner, LGBTQ+ aligned, and experienced in working with neurodiverse clients. My approach is inclusive, compassionate, and responsive to each person’s unique needs and experiences.

For me, counselling isn’t just about talking—it’s about being truly heard, finding clarity, and taking meaningful steps towards positive change. If you’re experiencing feelings of overwhelm, anxiety, depression, or a lack of purpose, please know you don’t have to face it alone. I’m here to support you. When life feels too much, it can be hard to see the way forward, and that’s where counselling can help.

Drawing from my experience in areas such as domestic abuse, coercive control, bereavement, anxiety, depression, low mood, and relationship difficulties, I offer a safe and supportive environment where you can explore your thoughts and emotions at your own pace.

I regularly undertake CPD to continue growing my knowledge and skills, ensuring my practice remains informed and responsive. Alongside this, I am currently writing a book to share insights and support with a wider audience. In addition, I am a member of the BACP and a professional associate of COSRT.

Different ways of working

I offer the opportunity to work either face to face, online or if you prefer we can use nature’s very own therapy room on a walk n talk therapy session.

Counselling isn’t just about talking — it’s about truly being heard, finding clarity, and making those small but powerful steps towards positive change.

You don’t have to face it alone

If you’re feeling overwhelmed, anxious, low, or a little lost, please know that you are not alone. When life feels too heavy, it can be hard to see the way forward.

Whatever challenges you’re facing, they do not define who you are. Through counselling, you can reconnect with yourself and begin to unlock your full potential.

A safe space for growth

My experience covers a wide range of areas, including relationships and couples counselling, domestic abuse, coercive control, bereavement, anxiety, depression and work-related stress.

Whatever you bring, you’ll find a safe, understanding space here — a space where your feelings matter and your voice will always be heard. Together, we’ll explore your emotions and experiences, untangling the complexities and gently moving towards healing, growth, and self-awareness.
